After my publications about the ANP and the 'bounty hunters' of Permission Machine.com, I have come to a solution that can at least prevent future claims. I therefore dare to post the attached photo of John de Mol with confidence despite having found it via Google images and despite the fact that it is ANP has the rights to it. In this article I will explain why and I will also offer the solution that saves people with websites high claims. Several people have succumbed to the pressure of ANP's Permission Machine and its high claims. Several websites simply stopped and took everything offline. So from now on, that won't be necessary. You are going to find out why here.
The Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau has long been simply a body that has acted on behalf of 1 family. Since last March 28, the news production company has been wholly owned by a mole. You might rightly ask "Who is this mole?So the Permission Machine company is chasing all copyrights on ANP photos on behalf of this ANP. It seems that they automatically scour the web for EXIF data of photos. If the photo is detected by such a bot, whoever used the photo from the ANP receives a license note. Permission Machine comes up with a coercive proposal that looks more like extortion, using legislation that seems to support its modus operandi. Read here how the same thing happened at this site and how they are demanding thousands of dollars. That could potentially even run into the tons, since martinvrijland.nl has been using photos taken from Google image search results since 2012.
By now, it is safe to say that all these laws and regulations affect mostly the little guy. Anyone who still wishes to voice his or her opinion online can be cornered by all sorts of legal issues. Of course, the controlled opposition will always escape the dance completely.
Fortunately, a loophole can be found even within the current legislation. It remains to be seen how long that loophole will allow for, but nevertheless I would like to offer that solution here.
Because I spent quite a bit of time finding this loophole (read: case law) and especially in finding the appropriate technical solution to go with it, I am making this solution available for a one-time donation. You can become a day member for that via this link. By the way, the presented technical solution is only suitable for WordPress websites. However, the legal loophole this solution uses is also described in this piece. You can therefore only read the text below if you become a day member. Because of all the technical adjustments in the past month (regarding the AVG and now this adjustment again), my costs are so high that I have reached the bottom. That forces me to offer this - yet very valuable solution, which can save many thousands of dollars on copyright claims - after your one-time donation in the form of a day membership. You can also make a one-time donation through the bank or the crowdfunding website (please also send an e-mail via the contact form). Of course, you are free to donate as well.
